The whole nation mourned and cried their eyes out, it was a loss which was not expected.
Over a million people saw him off, a great number of people travelled with his
cortege, people like Marshal William Birdwood who lost the war against Mustafa
Kemal Ataturk was in his 80s and despite of a severe leg problem he travelled
all the way to Turkey to pay his homage to this great leader and respected
enemy.
The Italian radio announced “Alexander, Julius Ceaser, Napoleon Stand and pay
respect because the biggest leader, Mustafa Kemal is arriving.”
There are so many things which
happened on the funeral of this great man that it may take days to list here……
