Global Crisis Affecting Many Nations How In Hell Did This Happen

By Agnes Franco

Global economic crisis has always been a troubling issue for every citizen on earth. It got us thinking how in hell did this happen when the world is thought to be rich with resources that we can all use to prosper. There are some known causes for the situation though.

According to studies, many families are suffering from inadequate funds. They are unable to support even the basic needs of their households. But despite the situation though, the overall debt of those highly impoverished countries still cannot equate the wealth accumulated by 7 of the most powerful people on earth.

Many people, about a billion, are still illiterate too, not being able to even write their own names. Still, 270 million people have no access for healthcare, 400 million cannot drink potable water, and 640 million are homeless. These problems are worsening by the day too.

International organizations are doing their part to respond to these matters. But unfortunately, many of these organizations are also massively influenced only by the rich nations and people. As a result, the poor nations still do not have a say to the overall outcomes of the organizations' projects.

As a result, only a few countries are able to benefit well from the programs. Those even poor countries remain poorer, while their citizens also suffer more. Another conference called the Rio +20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development was held last June 2012.

The conference aimed to provide solutions to the growing problems of the world. These would include unemployment, poverty, environmental issues, and distribution of resources in a fair way. We can only place our hopes to these solutions so that all people on earth may enjoy what the planet can truly offer.

People keep on asking How in hell did this happen. But the better action course is to do our part well. We need to recover, recycle and reuse; stop corruption; share our wealth to others; and educate. However, since these measures are difficult for some, we can only wait for years to pass us by in order to expect results.
