It seems that every person at these times has a cell phone. If you go to a mall, or a store, or at any public place, you'll see someone talking on his/her cell phone. Even those driving their vehicles are guilty of using their cell phones when they are behind the wheels. We are a very talkative nation, and we love our cell phones.
I could still recall the time when cell phones became available in the market. I had a friend back then, and the two of us had one each. Now outdated, the phones during that time were bulky. Our phones were with us the whole time so that me and my friend could chat on it as long as we wanted, we just chatted and chatted. I am embarrassed to say though that we used it while we were maneuvering our own vehicles. It was a worldwide craze, and we thought we were in! Did you notice how the cell phones look right now? They have certainly come a long way since that bulky, heavy bag phone, and they do just about everything except windows! We never ever leave our cell phones behind if we go out of the house. Cell phones have been a big help for us women especially at these times have become unsafe for us to be anywhere in the city with no companion.
You simply cannot drive safely if you are driving with one hand on the wheel holding your cell phone with the other. This is an accident waiting to happen and according to a University of Utah study, people who talk on the phone while driving are as impaired as a drunk driver. We do not support cell phone use while on the wheels. There are states even that plan to prohibit the use of cell phones while driving, no exceptions. Driving with a cell phone, yes, you'll still see a lot of those in the days to come but don't be sure that it will last by the time a law will say it's illegal to do so. You have a choice though, a much better choice that is safe. You can be in your car driving with two hands on the steering wheel, you'll just put on a hand's free device on your phone. A hands free device has become a prerequisite in phone usage for drivers as stated in the California Senate Bill 1613. The bill was put into effect last July 1, 2008. This bill makes it illegal to drive and talk without a hand's free device for your cell phone.
My partner works on his computer most of the time and being able to have a Blue Tooth Headset is a great blessing for him. When my husband is dealing with a client about problems with his/her computer, he can be able to assist him/her through the computer as well as use his Blue Tooth Headset device at the same time that could take long hours. Have you tried typing and at the same time holding your cell phone? It's impossible, right? Unless if you try holding the cell phone with your neck and shoulder. However, that will create discomfort and health issues. So a few years ago I bought him a Blue Tooth Headset, and he says he won't ever go without a hand's free device again.
Nerves in the neck will be constricted once you put a cell phone in the middle of your neck and shoulders. This results in pain in the arms, hands, neck and shoulders and often causes headaches. A hand's free device is a good way to go, so that you won't have to suffer headaches and body pains. You can have yourself a Blue Tooth Headset. It's comfy, uncomplicated. It's wireless and produces good quality sound. There's a brand that presents various choices - in styles and shapes - depending on what fits you. It's Motorola. It has a speaker phone that you can fasten on your car's sun visor. Using this in the state of California while driving is not prohibited. With this one, a wireless headset is not needed anymore.
So, remember, obey all rules of the road, and for heaven's sake practice safe driving, and if you are going to talk on the phone, use a hand's free device.
