What Is Drink And Paint New York

By Allyson Burke

If you are looking for a fun night out where you can leave the kids behind for awhile, then you may want to consider trying a drink and paint New York class. It is a fun way to do something you may not normally do while having a drink or two. You also get a keepsake to take home that can be used to decorate your walls.

Each class is comprised of one skilled artist who acts as the teacher and a group of people who bring a bottle of wine or other drink and paint a picture according to the artist's instructions. This replica painting is yours to take home at the end of the session, as well as any leftover wine you might have from the periodic breaks you get to imbibe.

These classes are a lot of fun, but some people avoid them like the plague because they think you have to already know how to paint. This is actually untrue; anyone with any painting skill level, or even no skill level, can join in the fun. The teacher who leads the class is a skilled artist who breaks the painting down, making it easy for you to recreate on your canvas.

The vast majority of these classes require you to bring your own bottle of wine or other drink and perhaps an optional snack as refreshment. A few proprietors may have alcohol available, but in all likelihood you have to bring your own. You can also share with others who might share with you in turn, which introduces you to new people and ups the fun factor.

All art supplies are provided as part of the fee you paid up front before the class started. This includes the canvas, paints, paintbrushes, and anything else that might be needed in order to make your masterpiece. You should only have to bring whatever beverage you wish to drink, and something to nibble if you want a snack with your drink.

These classes can vary in size, but if you have a small group or if its just you, there will likely be a few other groups in the same class. Weekday classes are sometimes smaller because a lot of people try to book weekend classes when they are not at work. Keep this in mind when you call or go online to schedule your session.

Instead of painting with a bunch of fun strangers, you could opt to try and get a private class instead. If you have a large enough group, you can see if the owner of the studio will give you a private session that is by invitation only. If your party is large enough, you may even get a discount of some kind. Call ahead to see what price you can get to try and save money.

If you want to try something unusual and have fun with friends at the same time, then look no further than a drink and paint New York class. These are a lot of fun, and all the art supplies are included. Who wouldn't want to spend a couple of hours catching up with friends while creating a piece of art that you can proudly display at home?
