Yesterday I took my Kashmiri friend to a nearby restaurant which was quite famous for authentic Gujarati food.
She was looking beautiful and fairer than
TIDE advertisement shirt.
As soon as we reached, the owner of the
restaurant who was standing out saw us and came to talk.
He to my friend - You don’t look like
a Bangalorean (With a wide smile)
Friend - Yeah. I am from Kashmir and
studied in Gujarat for 4 years.
Their conversation lasted for 900 seconds.
Both were talking in Gujarati and I was trying to figure out what topic were
they discussing. I stood there like a dumb duck.
He requested her to try a dish and ordered
a customized Gujarati food. After a few minutes the waiter realized that I
had also come to the restaurant and took my order.
Today I took my mom and told her with pride
that the restaurant owner knows me well.
I walked to the owner and greeted him upon
which he asked
“Do I know you? “
Later I narrated the entire incident to
mom.
She - (Laughs) Happens beta. Don't you
worry.
Me - Do looks and skin color matter
the most
The below dialogue of her's made my day
She - “Beta, Doodh chahe jitna bhi
safed ho, Log toh Chai ke hi dewane hote hai”
[Translation: “People prefer Tea over
Milk.”]
