Did the Chinese take revenge on the Japanese after China won WWII for the Nanking massacre?

The Nanking Massacre, also known as the Rape of Nanking, occurred during the Second Sino-Japanese War, which began before World War II but continued into it. The event took place after the fall of Nanking (now Nanjing), the capital of China at the time, to Japanese forces in December 1937. It involved mass killings, rapes, looting, and other atrocities committed by Japanese troops against Chinese civilians and prisoners of war.

After World War II, China's victory was against the Japanese, not the Chinese themselves. The Chinese victory was part of the broader Allied victory over Japan in World War II. Following the end of World War II, China, along with other Allied powers, participated in the post-war tribunals and sought justice for the war crimes committed by Japanese forces, including the Nanking Massacre. However, it's crucial to note that revenge is a complex and subjective concept. While there were calls for justice and accountability, the focus was largely on post-war reconstruction, reconciliation, and establishing a peaceful order in the region.
