Were Ancient Greece and Rome at the same time?

No, Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome were not exactly at the same time, but they did overlap to some extent. Ancient Greece is generally considered to have started around the 8th century BCE (before the Common Era) with the emergence of the city-states, and it lasted until the conquest of Alexander the Great in 323 BCE.

Ancient Rome, on the other hand, is traditionally dated from the founding of the city of Rome in 753 BCE. The Roman Republic was established in 509 BCE, and it transitioned into the Roman Empire in 27 BCE with the establishment of the Roman Principate.

While Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome coexisted for a period, they were distinct civilizations with different cultures, languages, political systems, and societal structures. The height of Ancient Greek civilization, often referred to as the Classical period, occurred in the 5th and 4th centuries BCE, while the Roman Republic and later the Roman Empire reached their zenith in the 1st century BCE and the 1st and 2nd centuries CE (Common Era).
