Menopause refers to the end of menstruation as a result of decline in the production of various hormones such as progesterone and estrogen in the ovaries. The decline is natural and is not triggered by any cause. At the age of about 50 years, women enter the menopause stage where they start experiencing a lot of physiological changes and symptoms. These symptoms and changes can have significant effects of their lives.

During menopausal stage, ovaries end the monthly routine of preparing and releasing eggs which goes on for several years. There are many different menopausal symptoms that vary in their level of severity from one woman to another. Among the most common symptoms include insomnia, vagina dryness, depression, irritability, mood swings, hot flashes, and headaches. These symptoms may be very severe in certain cases, which has necessitated the development of various options for relieving them. Natural menopause symptom relief methods and approaches also exist.

Hormonal imbalances are what causes most menopausal symptoms and natural methods seek to correct that. The hormones of target are progesterone, testosterone, and estrogen. Refined carbohydrates and sugars should be avoided. Most women have busy schedules that they lack time to plan and to eat healthy, which is bad because the body needs its time too.

Relieving of some of the symptoms experienced can be achieved by herbal remedies. Some hormones and certain plants species have similar molecular features. This causes plants to be able to adapt to bodily needs in human beings. As such, they can support or slow the process of hormonal productsion. One of the menopausal symptoms is gaining weight. The weight increase results from fluctuating levels of estrogen hormone. Most women gain weight as fats get deposited around the abdomen and stomach. Simple daily exercise can go a long way in solving this problem. One should regularly engage in exercises such as swimming, yoga, dancing, walking, and biking.

Additional neurotransmitter and hormonal imbalances can be caused by stress. Stress impacts neurotransmitters and hormones that affect mood, blood sugar imbalances, mental function, thyroid function, and digestive function among others. Hot flashes, low libido, and other menopausal symptoms have been associated with stress too. As such, lowering stress levels can relieve most symptoms.

Most of the natural solutions named above cannot be achieved overnight. It takes time to make all the named lifestyle changes and so one should not be in a hurry. It is good to take one step at a time.
