When fishing for bass, use light-colored grubs as bait. Grubs that are yellow, white, pepper and salt, chartreuse and smoke are extremely effective. The more see though the grub, the more their metallic coloration shows and will glint in the light. This reflecting light helps attract fish. When you can't catch anything, switch over to a grub which matches the colour of the water.

Saltwater fish are a lot sharper when it comes to the scent of your bait. For this reason, it is usually a smart idea to fish with fresh live or fresh dead bait, when searching fordiscus varieties. This is likelier to attract fish from a distance than synthesised lures with more sophisticated or less natural scents.

Choose your rod and reel punctiliously, based primarily on the type of water you will be fishing in. Freshwater rods and reels are typically smaller, while saltwater fishing requires a more industrial quality rod and reel. If you do not make the right selection when talking about your gear, you may find that it can not handle the fish you are endeavoring to catch.

If you caught a large fish or a saltwater fish, you may have to kill it. You'll need a sharpened tool to puncture the fish's brain. This can be done by grabbing the tool forcefully and bringing your fist down on the fish's head. Make this as quick as practical and don't smash the fish.

Over-the-counter seasickness remedies can be useful on a deep sea fishing excursion. Even those that are not typically susceptible to seasickness can be affected by the constant rocking motion of a fishing vessel. This could seriously affect your delight in the trip. Have them available if you need them as you become used to the waving of the water.
