Weight Training For Basketball

By Ibrahim Smith

If your child is passionate about basketball and you aren't, it can be hard to help them improve their game. You may not be able to provide them with the kinds of pointers that they're interested in. However, you can still help them with basketball training aids.

Medicine Ball Wall Throws are one type of common basketball exercise. In addition to helping with your passing, controlling, and catching skills, this exercise helps with hand-eye coordination. To perform this exercise, you will need a medicine ball. Grab the ball and clutch it to your chest as you face the wall. Throw the ball at a specific target on the wall as hard as you can. Be sure your hands are in front of you so you can catch the ball as it comes back toward you. Once you have caught it, continue to repeat these steps.

In this article, we have discussed two effective basketball exercises. It is true that playing basketball is an excellent workout, but these two exercises will assist you in getting in better shape and performing better in every game. Refer to these instructions to be on top of your game.

Be vigilant to the types of aids that your child enjoys and seems to respond to. If books are preferable, then spend some time finding them quality content that they can benefit from. If your child prefers visual content, there are a number of training videos on basketball that you may be able to subscribe to.

For this exercise, begin by getting into a pushup position as you use both hands to straddle the ball. Now, lower your body so you are halfway toward the ground. Next, quickly explode off the floor and get on top of the basketball and stay in this position for one second. Finally, remove yourself from the ball and gently fall to the ground. Continue to repeat these steps until you feel like you have accomplished your goal.

By hitting the weights for all areas of your body you will help condition your body to become an effective weapon on the basketball court, which will ultimately make you a much better player overall.
