Errors that are identified are rectified before the program is used in the actual process. This helps in prevention of serious malfunctioning and system breakdown.

PLCs are programmed using a normal computer that has the necessary software. The connection can be through either the serial or parallel ports of a computer. However, an appropriate adapter can be used to make sure that the two computers are properly interfaced.
