How To Fix Bleach Stain On Carpet

By Marci Glover

After cleaning the entire house to make sure that it is sparkling, one of the worst things to discover would be a big bleach stain right in the middle of the carpet. Unlike other stains, this big and annoying type is extremely hard to come off and will probably just stay there. Luckily, there is another way to fix bleach stain on carpet.

Now before doing any fixing, the very first thing that one should do would be to simply clean the affected area a little bit. One does not need to really make it sparkling clean but the least that he can do would be to rinse it just a little bit. The goal here is to make sure that the carpet is a little bit damp and not too soaked.

Now from there, he has to now collect some fibers from the carpet which he will use later on. Now if he has a collection of carpets, then it is best that he would take the fibers from the other carpets instead. Of course he has to make sure that the colors are similar if not the same.

After he has already collected a significant amount of fibers, then the next step is to get a small index card or a small piece of cardboard. From there, take the collection of fibers and stick it to the small cardboard or index card. One can either use some tape to do this or use some really sticky glue.

After doing this, then the next thing that one has to do would be to go down to an art supplies store and buy himself some paint. Now the recommended type of paint that he should use for this kind of thing is acrylic paint because it is actually the most effective. Do make sure that the color of the paint matches that of the carpet.

After buying some paint, then the next thing that one should do is to cut out the bleached part. Now do take note that it is actually quite hard to take out the fibers of carpets so one does not need to take out the whole thing. All one needs to do here would be to use a pair of scissors to cut out the rather top parts and leave a bald spot there.

Since there is already a visible bald spot in the affected area, then one may put the index card with the fibers in there. Now one thing to take note of is that there is a possibility that it will actually not stick. To make sure that it sticks there, one may actually use super glue.

The last step is to use the acrylic paint to paint the fibers and the index card so that it would totally blend in. Once one has already painted the area, then all he has to do would be to wait for the paint to dry. When the paint dries, it will look brand new.
