A Better Approach To A Golden Glow With Sunless Tanning Can Be Entertaining

By Haywood Hunter

Since the 1960's, people have become more aware of the effects of the sun on our skin. As a result, Sunless Tanning has increased in popularity. Many people are afraid of premature aging and skin cancer from excessive exposure to the sun. Now you can safely apply chemicals to your skin for a natural looking tan and not worry about harming your skin.

Having a tan has many benefits. It can make you appear thinner, younger, and hide unsightly veins. Many people agree that having a tan gives off a more healthy appearance. You always feel better with a soft glow, too.

Because we are aware of the damage that the sun's rays can have on our skin, we are more inclined to limit our sun exposure. An increase in skin cancer has also caused people to look for a safer, healthier way to achieve a tan. Most people wear sunblock daily now, just to protect themselves from over-exposure.

When you get a spray tan, you are having a chemical called dihydroxyacetone (DHA) applied to your skin. It causes a chemical reaction with the amino acids on your skin's surface. This reaction changes the color of your skin, making it darker. You can expect the color to last anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

DHA is not a dye, stain, or paint and is safe to use. You don't have to worry about premature aging, unnecessary wrinkles or skin cancer when using this product. It safely washes away as your skin sloughs off dead skin cells over the next week or two.

Products that contain DHA can be applied in several ways. You can purchase lotions or creams from salons and various drug stores and watch your "tan" develop within a couple of hours. Another option is to go to a salon and step into a machine that sprays your tan on. Lastly, you can have someone airbrush a professional looking tan on you by hand.

Cream application can be messy and difficult to apply evenly. Having someone from a salon airbrush a tan on by hand, is the most expensive option and can be a little awkward. You can also have the tan applied in a spray tan booth. This method is very fast, as it only takes a minute for the machine to spray you and can be cost effective.

The benefit of having the machine or airbrush gun tan you is more even results. The booth takes less than a minute, while being sprayed with an airbrush gun can take quite a bit longer. It is important to note that a spray tan will not provide protection from the sun, so be sure to continue wearing sunblock when you are in the sun's rays.

Sunless Tanning is affordable and safe. If you desire the soft glow of a tan, but don't want to risk over-exposure to the sun, this may be an option for you to consider. UV-free tanning is a good choice for safe tanning. You can have a wrinkle free tan without the risk of developing skin cancer. Enjoy a soft, worry-free natural glow!
