In Case Of An Accident Coquitlam, B. C Chiropractor Alleviates Slipped Disc Pain Safely

By Arthur Albao

When a slipped disc brings on back pain, turn to the Coquitlam chiropractors Office for care that will provide relief. It is non-invasive and effective. It does not rely on prescription medication. When you are looking for a way to reduce pain, chiropractic care will do so.

Just as the shock absorbers in a car cushion the impact of bouncing over the road, the intervertebral disc cushions the impact of one vertebra rubbing against another. As you run and jump no damage is done when one bone impacts another.

A herniated disc is one that protrudes from between two of the vertebrae. The outer layer of the disc is a tough material. The inside layer is soft and provides the cushioning effect.

Some of the causes of this injury are auto accidents. Twisting the body in an unusual way or taking a fall while playing sports. If you are obese or your posture is deficient, those may be causes.

There are four levels of herniation. Grade I causes low back pain that is relatively mild. It may be the result of coughing or sneezing. When you have a Grade II level, you will feel numbness in addition to pain. You may also get a tight feeling in the buttock. It will radiate down one of your legs.

Grade III includes low back pain and leg pain. Neurological changes are added to those symptoms. If pain or a significant tightness develops in one leg, it is cause for concern.

With a Grade IV herniated disc, the individual feels minimal pain in the back. However, the pain in one leg will be much worse. You would be wise to begin chiropractic care before the condition worsens and reaches this level.

Your Coquitlam chiropractors office will share your concern when you call for an appointment. The preventative measure of getting attention at an earlier stage might have let you avoid the severe pain a Grade IV herniation can cause.
