Solid Tips For Creating A Good Marketing With Email Message

By Stavros Georgiadis

A lot of people who want to use marketing via email to increase their business do not know how to get started. This type of marketing can be adapted to a specific audience or type of products easily. A successful campaign will increase sales and build a good reputation for your business.

Try to make your email as personal as possible. Like any other kind of marketing, treating your customers as individuals can make them more likely to respond positively to your message. Use your customer's names in the emails that you send them, and thank them in a personal way. This will give them the impression that your business cares and can go a long way toward increasing sales.

Find out as much information as possible about email marketing. Search online for information, or check out books from the library. You can probably find a number of classes or workshops in your neighborhood, so be sure to attend as many as you can.

You can use A/B testing to improve the results of your emails' subject lines. Take one of your emails, and divide the mailing list in two. Send each half of the list the same mail, but with differing subject lines. This way, you will be able to gain insight as to which subject lines will encourage the highest open rates. You will also see which subject lines people will skip over without reading.

Use active and passive forms of feedback to improve your email-based campaigns. Active feedback is obvious: ask for suggestions and opinions from your readers. Passive feedback may not even be noticed by the reader. You can get tools and software that can help you to figure out what links have the most clicks.

Avoid using too many graphics in your marketing newsletters. Many email programs will block out graphics, making it a waste of time to utilize them. The spam folder is the likely destination for photo laden email.

Avoid major email promotions around holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most people will be busy celebrating and will not check their emails until they go back to work. There are some exceptions. For example, if you're having a holiday sale, especially a Black Friday sale, you might want to send an email over the holiday.

Always be mindful of the fact that more and more individuals are using smartphones on a daily basis. Many of those users are likely to be your customers. Mobile devices have lower resolutions, so your space will be limited. Know the limitations that you have when it comes to these small displays, and ensure your emails can be read on a phone screen.

Test how your email messages look in different platforms. As soon as you have the perfect email creative, send it to various email clients and operating systems. Send it, as well, to web-based email clients, and open up these emails using all of the major browsers. How something appears in Yahoo Mail on Windows may not appear as intended in Gmail on a Mac or Linux machine.

With the information you have learned, you have armed yourself with the right tools at your disposal to understand the basics of a successful email marketing strategy. Remember the information listed, and do it!
