One Of America's Golf Courses Of Champions

By John Bracken

Early on the history of the venerable Pine Valley Golf Course of Camden New Jersey rode a golfing legend of lore. A most experienced golfer from the isles of Scotland strolled out onto the greens, from the Pine Valley clubhouse and actually expected to mingle with North American buffalo on the greens. You might expect this up at the the Glendale links way up in Canada , he was told, but not here at the Pines. That is not today , in the present tense. So the world of golf and the fables and stories of golfing legends go.

A few years ago a number of elderly gentleman from golfing lore, from around the globe, gathered at Pine Valley Golf Club to compete in a tournament that had been planned to promote good relations as well as create deep friendships among golfers and golfing enthusiasts. One of the players a Canadian from Winnipeg St. James strode briskly from the clubhouse towards the first tee and turned to look down the fairway. An expression of amazement froze his face. Stretching out before him for some 170 yards was a jumble of sand and underbrush that appeared to be more like the untamed seaside of Scotland than a parcel of the garden State of the Colonies. Beyond the sandy wastes was a lush fairway, closely protected on each side by tall pines. The fairway turned right and disappeared between the trees. There was nothing else in sight. Indeed with all the years and golf swings Pine Valley still garners awards and rankings as one of the very best golf courses in the world.

In one quick glance, the eager golfer saw a beautiful but forbidding hole and he reacted like many with glee.It can be said that no one ever goes to Pine valley Golf Club in Pine Valley, Camden County, New Jersey unacquainted but nearly everyone, and every golfer and golfing enthusiast is more than pleasantly surprised. There is no other golf course in the world just like the spread at Clementon, New Jersey. Its unusual design and large baffling greens have earned for Pine Valley, a subtitle and reputation of being among the worlds tough and toughest golf courses, virtually without dispute. No doubt such courses such as the Glendale Golf & Country Club in Winnipeg Canada does not hold a candle to it.

Tournaments are held in this place just like public and private golfing for many years. Many public faces in Hollywood and in the whole world visited the place in order to play golf and to see the relaxing ambiance of the place they called as paradise. Truly, the place was not merely designed for golfing activities but also to build friendships and good relationships to the golfers.

Lastly variety is endless and can be counted on for sure at Pine Valley, both adding to every golfers pleasure, challenge and frustration with their day on the fairways of their golfing careers.
