Making Soap As A Hobby

By Gerard H Darrington

If you are looking to get away from the high street spend and would prefer something a little unique then why not consider making your own soap. You can choose your own colours and there are many colours to choose from. Also you can choose your fragrance and there is also a massive selection to choose from right across the board.

There are several method that can be used to make soap however we are going to look at the melt and pour soup base option and the ten steps to success.

1. Always start by finding a really good soap base.

2. Prepare where you are going to work and make sure it is clean.

3. Cut the soap base into chunks and place into the containers.

4. Melt the soap base either in a glass bowl on hot water or in the microwave.

5. Add the fragrance that you want the soap so smell of.

6. Now it is time to add the colourings to your soap.

7. Stir the soap gently and make sure that you don't create any bubbles int he mix.

8. Pour your soap into the mod.

9. Let the soap set and then remove it from the mold.

10. You do not need to cure the soap this will have already been done.

Only take the above as a rough guide on how to create soap. If you think it looks easy then get a fuller description on how to create soap and make sure you buy the best ingredients. If a soap base looks cheap then it probably won't be that nice when you have made it. Also remember that it takes time to perfect a skill like making soaps so the first few times might not be great.

Soap making can be fun, do it with you children or friends. Homemade soap makes a great gift for family and friends and on any occasion. For a real treat why not make soap for you children grandparents at Christmas or thanks giving. It goes down a treat and the best part is that you had the fun in making it.
