The 3 Redirection Mechanisms Of The Computer Processor

By Juliette Cruz

The 3 redirection mechanisms entail the three main ways a computer processor is able to work in terms of data transfers and internet connections. These ways are the DNS redirect, TCP hand off and HTTP redirect, and each works in a different ways. They are also important to computer processes as they increase efficiency, especially when using the web to search for information in a certain document.

Firstly, HTTP redirection is the short form of the words hypertext transfer protocol. Understanding this kind of system needs one to understand about URL. Documents stored in internet are searched using a specific URLs type. These URLS normally have names of the server of the internet and that of other web servers. When looking for a particular document, to retrieve it from the internet, one sends the specific URL to the server. The server gives several results of documents for one to choose the correct one.

Internet provides different documents types and sometimes the given files are many. When in such scenario, the original document that was stored is employed to communicate with the internet server. Documents that are identical or the same in content should not be used to communicate with any server since it is difficult to trace such documents. Nothing can be done in such cases to come up with the wanted file.

TCP hand off mechanism entails major merging between the internet protocol and the TCP. These machines operate together to increase computer efficiency. It uses portions of data, setting up the information as segments. To set up this system one requires hard work when networking so as to come up with a good product that provides quality services for various types of information.

To work efficiently, the TCP server requires two devices that are complementary to each other and able to operate jointly during their operation. As it groups the different TCP segments, more than enough resources are required such as labor from a skilled person, capital and time. Thus, the device only benefits those who can afford the resources needed for the installation.

DNS redirect is the final mechanism of the three and stands for domain name system. It is the only system that translates IP addresses to names and languages in the domain and reverse. The server confirms either a domain or name error when the requested domain does not match with any file. The two methods that it uses to solve queries are the iterative and recursive.

Around the globe, the DNS servers are the ones that support the entire network connection used to get access to the internet information. This shows how it is important to the world. ISP servers also employ this mechanism to stop the clients from using malicious and prohibited websites. Hence, are useful in monitoring the activities people do while using the various websites and distinguish those people who do malicious activities like phishing.

Of all the 3 redirection mechanisms, DNS system is the one that is most preferred. This is because it has the highest level of efficiency and transparency. It also monitors all happenings very easy. However, the system is not able to identify many services running in an individual computer; therefore, cannot fully prevent hacking and other cases of theft in the internet.
