Children can stay insured longer

By Randy Taylor

Despite a turbulent economy and an unknown future for the health care industry, people are beginning to understand that they still have a voice and a choice as to the type of health care they are entitled to. If you understand the health care reform act even a little then you know that 40+ million uninsured Americans have better access to health care. This is great news for those who could not afford health care but it burdens all Americans will higher health care costs.

So why speak up now, because if you're an American who has health insurance you will continue to pay for that insurance and more for those who just can't afford it. If your voice is not heard change can not come about, and although it's important to reduce the ranks of the uninsured, we need to make sure policies put in place do not put more undue burden on the tax payers. Any law that lowers the number of people who can't pay should theoretically save the entire health care industry/health insurance premiums of every American.

With or without health care reform changes are inevitable, and the cost of health care is predicated to continue climbing upward, and medical professionals, along with hospitals are going to be fighting to survive. " Healthcare organizations are going to have to step-it-up," says MS. Marci at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Ohio.

Eligible members may also take advantage of a broad array of valuable money-saving social programs; from nutrition, energy, and telephone cost assistance to transportations and property tax programs. An extensive data base of over 9,000 private and publicly sponsored social programs in all 50 states allows health advocates in a single interview to determine what programs you may qualify for. From there, the appropriate applications are completed electronically for submission to the program sponsor.

Business are also excited for new health care legislation that allows for a better appeals process; we all are different and have different health needs and concerns, for insurance companies to deny coverage for no other apparent reason than they don't feel like paying is just wrong, and costs small business far too much money to fight. Far too many insurance companies over the years have acted in a manner that suggests they are more interested in their bottom line than the welfare of their policy holders.

With health reform if a company who insures one of its employees has a disputed claim there will now be a more independent and consumer-oriented appeals process, so the odds of the employee and or business having their issues resolved fairly would increase in both equality and the processing time, letting businesses get back to doing what they do best.

So many wonderful things can change peoples lives, many have had the opportunity to see firsthand how new health care reform laws can be beneficial- how appreciative and thankful those folks are. If change is what we need and want then now is the time to speak up and be heard, for as the saying goes, "The squeaky wheel get's the grease".
