Surprisingly Good/Great Product - Patio String Lights Review

By Alexis Ross

I give it 3 stars not since it is bad, but since it is just average.

Frequently it's very difficult to purchase lights from a web site since you can actually only get somewhat of an idea of the way it looks in the photograph provided. It is good when a product worked as marketed. Works best for me, these lights are fantastic. To use the template to mark where the holes should be drilled for the mounting screws, I could not use a pen or pencil on the dark-colored tree bark. As these things are likely to be set up over people's heads and at possibly awkward angles, I believe they should include somewhat higher quality screws.

I'd be extremely dissatisfied in this item if it cost more. I investigated what I needed and compared pricing on these low voltage light bulbs. It only worked dusk to dawn, so I called Heath Zenith and I was told that the light is damaged. Start to finish install time was ten minutes.

To get around this, I am using a dimmable CFL, which solved the "poof" problem.

Used this light to replace the same unit that was on the house for 4 years with direct exposure to the the weather. Not worth mailing back and definitely not worth purchasing. You need to take the batteries out to turn it off. Then I realized that this light would only use 3 way light bulbs. I'm ordering two more for others parts of the home. I usually seemed to forget to turn off the light each morning, so I chose to try a light with a movement sensor.

It would appear that some of these lights aren't effective with CFBs, so you may want to look into the item description cautiously if you are considering using CFBs. Super easy to install while offering all of the safety of the standard light with no expense. After buying a number of light sensitive switches for my door light to save cash (neither proved helpful only turning the lamp off in the brightest sunshine) I stumbled upon some reviews of the Heath Zenith movement sensing light. The tempered glass housing is extremely thick.

The product includes a significant design defect. At idle it uses half the bulb wattage makes the outdoor flood lights keep going longer and more energy efficent. We purchased two of these. We now have installed both of the lights. This has protected it from both sun and most rain. Cannot complain shipping was quick and all five work straight out of the box.
