Quit Smoking Hypnosis -How Effective Is It?

By David Hughes

You may be tired to bones after trying to quit smoking by following many smoking cessation tactics available, including natural methods and nicotine replacement therapy. But there is no need to be disheartened. Now there is a glimmer of hope to you through hypnosis to quit smoking. Many erstwhile smokers would vouch for the fact that hypnotism helped actively in quitting their smoking habits effectively.

Hypnosis allows the person to relax, all the while focusing on a particular problem. During the process, total relax of the body and mind takes place, keeping you in your sub conscious state. In such a state, your mind will not be able to differentiate between reality and imagination. Then you can imagine yourself to be a non smoker and the sub conscious recognizes that as a reality.

Everybody can go through the process of hypnotism. Earlier it was thought of as an external influence on your life and actions. But in reality, it is a natural state of mind and you don't remember what you do in such a situation. This is what happens when you are in the subconscious state of mind. Two different types of hypnosis to quit smoking are there.

Self hypnosis is the first type. Self-relaxation techniques are used here with the images to make the cessation effective. The fact to be remembered in self hypnosis is that, it may take time to master the technique. The second type is undergoing hypnosis with the help of a certified hypnotherapist. The hypnotherapist is a professional trained to help you relax and experience the positive affirmations and mental pictures. Mostly hypnotherapy is done in one session, though there can be multiple session programs.

You will be handed over some CDs containing positive suggestions regarding stopping smoking and you can listen to them in the peaceful ambiance of your home. As the positive affirmations become part of your subconscious mind, you are carried away from the urge for smoking. Thus hypnosis to quit smoking provides you complete freedom from addiction.
