DePuy Orthopedics Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson announced the recall of its products, ASR XL System Acetabular hip and ASR System coatings have been numerous reports of defects and damage caused by these devices.

The reason for the recall on hip replacement is also a large number of systems reviews of the hip. DePuy statistics showed that 12% of patients who received the device ASR resurfacing and 13% of patients who have their roots in hip surgery must complete the surgery or what they call the review section.
