My Initial Foray Into A Fresh Area Was Inspired A Few Time Ago

By Jon Izzard

I've created my own fishing tackle shop online which is very exciting. It should permit me to expand my activities in going on with my search engine optimisation work as well as bringing in money by affiliate marketing programmes and carrying links to dealers of bait and tackle, fishing books and DVDs as well as travel companies offering products aimed at the tackle dangling devotee.

What I am hoping to do is cover all types of demand for bait and tackle for anglers in the United Kingdom and the US which has been included, and Australia and South Africa will be added in the next few days.

At the moment there is an imbalance towards bait and tackle retailers in the US, and there is an excuse for this. As in so many areas, the Americans are way ahead of their British counterparts when it comes to affiliate marketing. There, where sellers have an internet resource for vending their products, they understand that they can find many more clients if more sites show links to them instead of relying on their own site being found by shoppers, and are willing to pay a commission to push that.

This isn't in fact the situation for Great Britain online bait and tackle sites however, and the other basis for so few British links is that there is a fishing tackle shop company who is constructing a new affiliate marketing plans for bait and tackle retailers which is going to go live in the New Year and I'm looking forward to joining that and then considerably increasing the number of links for British maggot drowners.

In the meantime, the SEO work can carry on to promote the shop and by the time the United Kingdom sites are included, my fishing tackle shop should be scaling the heights of the search results tables as the engines become more aware of the existence of the shop and finds lots of lovely relevant links to it, both in articles and within business directories.

What has inspired this selection to have a fishing tackle shop as my first in affiliate marketing is that I have missed it since I gave up maggot drowning several years ago. I was reminded how much I used to get from it when I was working at an office that was sat beside a canal and during a break I would sometimes observe people outside enjoying themselves, and later when out for an amble along one of the local canals some months ago I kept thinking how excellent it would be to be able to get away with my bait and tackle and get a bit of time on my tod in a peaceful situation.

So in the future, I want to improve the current site as much as I can, promote it across the search engines and then start some more and work on those. When I'm not sitting by the water of course.
