The Most Excellent Movie Commentary On Hand For Your Enjoyment

By Cory Vang

Not too long ago, the only way to in reality observe a film was to go to the movie theater. It was only in the 1980's that the technology of videos and VCR's came out. Many of the first video stores really rented out Videocassette recorder's along with the motion pictures because so few persons owned them at the start.

It did not take long however, before almost everybody owned a Videocassette recorder. And the technology continues to increase. We had DVD's and Blu-ray and now we have the most electrifying breakthrough yet, which is being able to download the film right to your own computer in the security of your own abode.

Select from the list below and download a good film to view tonight.

Soup for One - Intermittently triumphing although choppy presentation of lone New Yorker Rubinek looking for his dream gal. Cast includes Saul Rubinek, Marcia Strassman, Gerrit Graham, Teddy Pendergrass, Richard Libertini, Andrea Martin, and Lewis J. Stadlen.

Hail Caesar - Terrible music-megastar wannabe (Chamber) is in love with an offensive debutante, whose father is plotting to undermine an upcoming concert. Not a very good film. Cast includes Anthony Michael Chamber, Robert Downey, Jr., Frank Gorshin, Samuel L. Jackson, Judd Nelson, and Nicholas Pryor.

Bug - film version of Tracy Letts' play is tough to take critically however not without a twist or two if you could recognize it as a stunt. This is simply bug versus man. Cast includes Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon, Harry Connick, Jr., Lynn Collins, and Brian F. O'Byrne.

Alias Jesse James - One of Hope's funniest has him an insurance sales associate out West, mistaken for a sharpshooter. Fleming is a congenial Western belle, and the 2 do a cute melody together. Cast includes Bob Wish, Rhonda Fleming, Wendell Corey, Jim Davis, and Gloria Talbott.

Down Argentine Way - Entertaining 20th Century Fox musical with Grable in the film that increased her to prominence falling in love with slick Argentinean horse breeder Ameche. Miranda is magnificent in her first American film, acting infectious Brazilian music with her own band and look out for the Nicholas Brothers, who do a dynamite forte number. Picture postcard color all the way through. Cast includes Don Ameche, Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda, Charlotte Wood, Carrol Naish, Henry Stephenson, and Leonid Kinskey.

Big Trouble in Little China - Buddy Blowhard trucker Russell finds himself at large in Chinatown, while a friend's fiance is abducted right in front of his eyes. High tech Indiana Jones fashion escapade has large tongue-in-cheek demeanor, however everything else in reference to it is colossal, too including Russell's John Wayne swagger. Outstanding electric music score. The cast includes Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, James Hong, Champ Wong, and Kate Burton.

Lantana - Heartbreaking, mature tale of relationships obstructed by monotony, routine, and absence of articulation. LaPaglia plays a cop, whose marriage has stagnated, leading him to have an affair. In the mean time, he investigates the disappearance of a lady whose own marriage is in danger. The film is beautifully nuanced at every turn. Cast includes Anthony LaLaglia, Geoffrey Hurry, Barbara Hershey, Kerry Armstrong, Rachael Blake, Vince Colosimo, Daniela Farinacci, and Peter Phelps.
