How To Wipe Out The Cockroach Population Infesting Your House

By Danis Keithly

Cockroaches are small but irksome creatures that thrive in almost all regions and climes. They generally live in the dark and humid places of a home and survive on all types of organic items. They are bearers of germs of a number of diseases and damage food and other things in the household. Hence, one needs to eliminate the cockroach population in a lasting and effective way.

A lot of people opt for strong insecticides and sprays that turn out to be quite dangerous for the human beings residing in the apartment as well. Hence, it is better to use natural ways of removing cockroaches than opting for hazardous insecticides for doing so.

Your can begin by seeing that your sink is clear and by washing your utensils as soon as you are done with your meals, besides maintaining overall cleanliness of your kitchen and the spaces underneath your sink. As cockroaches love dark and damp places, the spaces in and around a sink provide them the perfect habitat. You must try to keep all your food stuff covered in order to stop enticing the cockroaches to attack your food.

It is essential that you block all the gaps and fissures, especially around your water pipes to make sure that the cockroaches can't use these as entry points. You should also ensure that the areas close to sewers are kept clean and dry so that they do not become the habitat for cockroaches. If there are common litter bins or dumping places close to your home then you need to find a way to remove them, as in their presence your house is highly likely to be invaded by cockroaches.

Last but not the least, if you have to use chemicals despite all these precautions then go for milder chemicals such as boric acid instead of the harmful ones normally available in the market.
