Golf for Entertainment

By Alex Mirabeau

We live in a stressful world, so it's only natural that we look for new venues of entertainment to ease our minds. You can get a lot of entertainment when you play the game of golf. Especially if you're willing to have a little fun with it!

Whether you are playing or watching golf, one avail of a great deal of entertainment. But you can add some nice twists and tweaks into a regular golf game to make it more fun to play. With simple modifications, you can make an old game seem fresh and relive the level of excitement to the game.

One variation to the game is called "monkey golf". To play this game, all you have to do is to add slips of paper into a hat with the name of each club written on it. Players must then raffle through those slips of papers contained by the hat and they will have to use the specific club they have picked to play an entire round of golf. This is entertaining as one player could potentially drive off the tee using a driver or a putter.

Another twist would involve the time wherein the game is played. As most of you are probably aware of, golf is always held during the day. But why not reconsider playing a night golf game? This will indeed introduce more challenge and bring forth more excitement to the game. Instead of setting up lighted courses, you can use glow balls in replacement of regular golf balls. Thus, they remain visible despite the dark course where you are paying in. various grease spots are also scattered all throughout the course to represent the hole where you must aim the ball at. Even staying within course can prove to be a challenge on this one, thus creating double the fun than you can imagine!

Another entertaining twist to the sport is called Wolf, which brings forth a lot of hilarity and good humor. To play this game, you can choose specific players to be part of your team judging by the way they hit the ball. Team composition quickly changes as well. But the most exciting part of this game is when a player is attempting to put in order to score. The remaining players in your team are not allowed to touch the ball, although they can do whatever they please. Hence, the field is wide open. You can do several obstructions such as covering the player's eyes, adding more obstacles into the field to prevent scoring a hole, and the process of coming up with the obstacles is so much fun.

Finally, friendly side bets could also be going on while a match is ongoing. This is a great way to make the audience feel more involved instead of being passive viewers to the game. But instead of money, you will use dares as bets instead. If you are creative enough, this is a great way to play golf for entertainment.

Finding entertainment on the golf course is actually quite easy when you think outside of the proverbial box. Just remember that the whole point of a friendly game is to have fun. So go out and do it!
