Is There Really An Acai Berry Diet Plan?

By Travis Van Slooten

The acai berry diet plan is said to be the answer to an individual's weight loss problems. It has gained much attention over the past couple of years because of the media coverage that has been devoted to the acai berry in general, from news segments to talk shows to lifestyle programs. Prior to its discovery, the acai berry was an ordinary fruit found in the rainforests of the Amazon in Brazil, and utilized by the locals as a major part of their dietary intake because of its health benefits. When it was introduced into the American market however, much has been made about its weight loss effects. The acai diet plan is simple: take acai supplements and lose the weight. Sounds too good to be true, right?

What Acai Berry Diet Plans Promise

Many companies are skipping right over acai berries as a healthy lifestyle supplement and calling them a weight loss drug. In addition, they may make other claims for their product, saying it can cure erectile dysfunction or increase metabolism. Many of these companies will even go so far as to suggest that diet and exercise are not necessary with their product. You may want to check for fine print before you buy a product. If they adamantly claim you will lose weight simply by taking their supplement, something may be shady about the company.

What You Will Really Get

Most importantly, you certainly should not expect to lose weight without proper diet and exercise. While the acai berry is an extremely healthy food and there are many benefits to taking a pure supplement, there is nothing about an acai berry diet plan which will cause you to lose weight without diet and exercise. If you do take an acai berry supplement and you start losing weight, you should consider checking the label for any additional ingredients. It is not normal to lose weight purely because of an acai berry supplement and you want to make sure there isn't something else in your product causing your weight loss. Additionally, if a company is willing to make false weight loss claims, they may be selling you an inferior product as well. It may be spray-dried or have processed seed in the product as well. You may have heard that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The same applies for acai berry diet plans.

What Drives Companies to Deceive

There is really no big mystery to this. The lure of easy money and quick profits are the driving force behind these exaggerated claims. And with weight loss products being a hot commodity, there's no faster way of selling supplements than by giving them the ability to help people lose weight. Do not underestimate the potential benefits of acai berry, though. Despite the hype associated with the acai, the claim that it is a superfruit with tons of healthy nutrients is a fact. Just be careful not to get lured by the "amazing" acai berry diet plan.
