Discover How To Choose A Good Dating Affiliate Program

By Thomas Voullemier

When you join a dating affiliate program, you will be the webmaster who promotes the dating site and earn commissions. The dating website you represent or join in a partnership provides the dating service and will give you a share of their revenue for any sale you bring to them. The amount of the commission you receive varies greatly from one company to another. Some will pay on the net profit after all their expenses. This is not a good deal for you as an affiliate. Your best choice for a dating site to represent will be one that pays on the gross value or the selling price.

As an affiliate you will be doing the promoting and sending new customers to the dating site and all they have to do is pay you a percentage of the first membership they sign-up. Being there are so many dating sites to choose from, you really need to be picky. Why spend your time and money working to promote a dating site that does not pay you well for your efforts. They need you more than you need them, bottom line.

Joining a program as an affiliate is pretty simple. Usually all that is required is to agree to their terms and conditions and to provide a way for them to contact and pay you. They provide you with a special ID that you will use in your links to distinguish any potential customer you send to them as being generated from your lead. Most programs will use the PPS (pay-per-sale) kind of commission. Your lead signs up for a membership and you make money.

Some dating affiliate programs offer a PPL (pay-per-lead) payment plan. This is payment for a lead or a person who will sign up of for a trial membership. The payment of this will be much less than for a PPS kind of commission but it has its advantage. To generate a lead, the amount of visitors is much less than is needed to convert the lead to a full membership (sale). So, even though the commission is less, the number of visitors you need to send is less. This makes your advertising dollar stretch further and is a little easier for a beginner.

You may consider an affiliation with a dating website that offers the PPC (pay-per-click) program. Once your visitor clicks on your advertising banner or ad link you are paid for that click-through visitor. This is not much but could amount to serious income depending on the volume of clicks. It will most likely be only a penny or it could be as much as a dime depending on the value of the visitor click and the volume of clicks you generate.

No matter which dating affiliate program you choose remember that it is your advertising dollar and your time it will take to generate sales. The commission that you will be offered should equal your investment. When you sign on as an affiliate pay close attention to the terms and conditions that you will be agreeing to uphold.

Look at what you are paid, how you are paid, when you are paid, how much you earn for each sale or click or lead, their membership costs and the volume of customers on their books, the ability to contact them and their customer support, the overall service they provide to their members, their views on spam and how well known they are.

Never pay to be an affiliate! If you are asked for a fee to join as an affiliate, move on.
