Based On a True
Story
This is about an old couple.
They were very gentle in nature.
They had a son who was married
and have two children. All of them were living quite happily.
But suddenly the wife of the old
man passed away.
After a few days the son came to
his father and said,
“Dad, you shift yourself to the
small room near the garage. Your daughter in law is having a lot of problems
for you. After mom's demise she has to do the chores of the house and in your
presence she is facing a lot of difficulty to work in a saree.”
The father said, “I don't have
any objection in whatever daughter in law wears. Let her wear clothes in which
she is comfortable.”
The son said, “Still, she has
problem in this. You better shift to that room.”
Without uttering a word the
father shifted to the small room adjacent to the garage.
About one month after the
incident the old man called his son and handed tickets of a foreign trip for
his family and said, “Take everyone for a vacation. Go, enjoy and refresh
yourselves.”
The son's family happily went for
the trip.
In the meantime, the old man sold
his house which was 4 crores worth, in just 2 crores.
He then bought a nice flat for
himself in an apartment and transferred his son's belongings into a rented flat
in another apartment.
When the son returned from the trip,
he found a watchman at the gate of their house. The watchman told him that the
house has been sold.
Astonished, the son called his
father but he couldn't connect.
Sensing the situation the
watchman asked him if he is trying to call the previous owner of the house. The
son nodded.
The watchman said that the
previous owner has changed his phone number and has told to inform him when his
son is back.
Saying this watchman handed the
phone to the son to talk with his father. Over the phone the father told him to
wait there.
After sometime a car stopped and
the old man got down from it. He handed a bunch of keys to his son and said,
“These are the keys of your new flat. I have paid the rent for a year. The rest
is your choice. Keep your wife the way you want to and live happily the way you
feel happy.”
Saying this, the old man went
back.
Indian parents don't realise
that they always have a tendency do more than needed for their children.
Parents spend the active phase of
their lives bringing up their children in the best possible way. But when the
same children become successful in their lives, they not only refuse to be with
them but also don't hesitate to snatch their possessions.
But, without letting their
children to torture them, I feel parents should be able to make up their minds
to teach such children a lesson like the story above.
