By Rosella Campbell

The Wailaku region is located in the beautiful island of Maui and is designated as the seat of that county. It is a short distance away from Kahului and near to the opening of the cloud supreme or Lao Valley. The name alone evokes images of a relaxing setting that has the ability to help relieve stress. This is the context in which men and women who visit the area opt to go on a Hana private tour.

Whether you plan to go alone or accompanied by a partner, it is more enjoyable to see Hana without the distractions that result from having many other people around you. Crowds have a tendency to generate noise, even when people are trying to whisper. Individuals may cough or even should in glee when they are excited and that can scare animals that you stop to see.

Another problem comes from traveling in large groups. When you want to stop your vehicle or spend longer at a particular spot, you may be unable to because of other member of your group. Small pairs allow you to really see what you want without worrying about anyone getting lost or forcing you to keep up.

If you like swimming there are several spots in Hawaii to do so and all of them are not the same. People who take a small number of friends with them on the road to Hana town may actually spend time at swimming holes along the way. Spend as long as you want to or take a quick dip and move on to see other sites along the way.

Lava tubes can only be seen in regions where lava has formed natural conduits in the earth. People who enjoy studying rocks or seeing the effects of magma and other hot liquids will enjoy walking through these. Stop at one on your journey and if children are in your group, allow them to see the details of these tunnels themselves.

Waterfalls tend to be popular among individuals who go on private tours. There are instances where you can actually hike a fair portion of the way and get to enjoy the plants all around you. Once you reach the falls, you can take pictures of them and record your adventure in that unique part of the Hawaiian islands.

Being driven by an experienced guide is better than taking the trip by yourself. The road can be a bit scary in some parts. To one side you have lots of lush vegetation while the other gives you an excellent view of the water. Leaving the responsibility of driving to someone else allows you to concentrate on having fun.

There are other benefits to having an experienced guide with you. They know where to get the best vegan coconut ice cream and other delicious treats which make your trip a culinary adventure. They will be quick to see fauna that you would have missed if they were not there with you and know all the good photo spots.
