Must Know Methods Which Land Clearing Companies Do

By Imelda Reid

Land clearing is a process in removing stumps, stones and any other obstacles in an area. The technique land clearing companies used do is dependent upon the location of the land, its purpose and the size. For large lands, a heavy duty equipment is necessary to accomplish the job.

One common equipment used in this kind of task is the bulldozer. They prefer to use this because of the versatility it can provide. The front part of the dozer can be attached with some other tools depending on what task that needs to be done. In land clearing, a tool called root plow is used. This tool has a sharp blade in it which is shoved into the topsoil to easily remove small trees and bushes.

Even though dozers are versatile, it is not flexible enough to do some tasks. For more flexibility, excavators are also used. This equipment moves and works like a human hand. This helps grab small tress and load it into the trucks for proper disposal. Like bulldozers, excavators also use attachments to do certain tasks.

Using those equipments, land clearance professionals effectively clears out grounds in no time. There are three procedures they usually perform to this. These procedures are called pushover, cut and grind and burning. The first procedure is done by shoving the trees to take them down while leaving the roots of it in the ground. The pushed tree will then be moved by the dozer to pile.

Cutting down trees is what cut and grind method begins, as what its name suggests. The trees will then be transported to a specific location to be processed later. Unlike the pushover method this will remove the roots of the tree.

The most perilous technique is burning. This method is only used if the location of the lot is away from civilization and is vast enough to manually cut the trees down one by one. Mostly, only experts do this kind of thing because of the risks which can possibly endanger a life of an individual. Professionals who use this kind of method properly controls the fire to prevent it from spreading over.

Small parts of lots can be easily cleared without the help of experts but those vast fields can be very difficult to handle with no assistance. Professional clearers are well trained in this kind of tasks and can handle it efficiently without taking too much time. They are also aware of the bylaws that the government imposes regarding terrain clearance.

The trees that are accumulated after the clearing can then be converted to money by selling it to a timber company. There are companies who clean the area right after they collect the trees. You can ask you friends or someone you know if they have someone to recommend. By doing so, you already have the money without having to worry about how to clean the leftovers.

Remember that land clearing will leave the top layer or topsoil open to soil erosion. To prevent and preserve this upper layer, you can plant grasses on it. If in case, the soil will be used for development later on, you can then remove the grass easily rather than importing a bunch of new dirt just to avoid soil loss.
