Where Can Your Career Take You?

By Clare Westwood

Finding Your Perfect Career

Are you considering making a move in your career? Maybe you have been fantasising for a while about changing jobs but have been too busy to make the move. Perhaps you are becoming frustrated and feeling stunted in your current position and feel there is nowhere left for you to grow. Whatever the reasons for wanting to make the change, your perfect career will be out there if you look. Getting the confidence and courage to start making applications is the first step to changing your life.

Often employees fall into the trap of thinking that the main point to working is to earn as much money as possible, this is not the truth in reality. Earning enough money to survive is important of course but it is also equally important to be happy and fulfilled in what you are doing. If you don't feel motivated by your role then you will probably find it hard to stay motivated and interested in your job. You are more likely to be motivated and reach goals if you are working on something you are passionate about. Whether a career change is the necessary outcome or whether you are looking for your first ever job it is important to understand what will interest you and motivate you.

Quite often at the moment people are looking at what pays the most and what is the most secure career. It is important to discover your interests and passions before you consider what you want to do. Once you have a good understanding of what you want to do you will probably be surprised at what options are open to you.

If you want some professional help with applying for jobs or matching your skills with roles that you may find of interest then perhaps consider working with a recruitment consultant. Recruitment consultants can help you get your CV noticed and often they know of vacancies that aren't made public.
