Toilet assistance is that process which you can help an elderly person or a child use the rest room in a proper way. This involves helping them to sit well on it, giving them good time to complete their call. Helping them wipe their but well, then cleaning or flushing it.

There are some basic principles which will help you in taking care of this patient. These principles are consistency, structure and simplicity. It will force you to have some trust, respect and kindness towards the patient. This will make the whole process pleasant and effective for both.

Falling down can cause sprains or injuries. Make sure that after the lavatory is use it is washed or flushed. Keeping it clean will keep away flies from flying or breeding in it. This will also keep germs away.

Try and give this person some simple tasks having simple directions. This will help him find the tasks easy to understand as well as to accomplish them. Some of the things which you may instruct him to do is pick some scattered clothes in the room.

Make him feel comfortable on it. Leave the room so that he is free to do whatever call he wanted to. If you stand in that room he might not be comfortable doing it. Do not go far away because they might try to leave the room on their own if you are not around.

Remember that the elderly might need to use the room frequently so you should be around all the time. Most of the elderly person feels entertained by telling him stories or bringing him a radio to listen to. Make sure that you do not take him to a room further from the lavatory. This is because they might not be bale to hold the urine or long call for a longer time. This can make him relieve himself on his underpants.

Most of the elderly people suffering from this disease might not get adequate hydration and nutrition. Such are the things which can make the disease worse. Offer them food in the best form so that they are able to enjoy it. When you take to them food include beverages or drinks they ease digestion so they should be made available for them.

After bathing him, dry him with a towel. Apply some oil on the body so that the skin does not look very dry. Bring clean and dry clothes and dress him up. This will make him feel fresh and happy toilet assistance is so challenging therefore you should have some skills before you do it.
