Collective Gay Blogs

By Mimi Romcescu

On multilple web sites, you will find hundreds, possibly even thousands of gay blogs and LGBT blogs. A number of them possess a single author (which is usually the owner of that particular gay blog, as well), while others would rather have two or more authors. Exactly why is that? Well, some gay blog owners would rather have not only the G from LGBT (gay authors), but the L (lesbian authors), B (bisexual) and T(transgender/transsexual).

What are the benefits of collective gay blogs?

Collective gay blogs are more popular than the single-author gay blogs for several reasons. First of all, when there are more than one author on a gay blog, they are able to write two or more articles in the 24 hour, on different topics and written in different manners, which is exactly what attracts many visitors in the end. However, however, there are more articles on a collective gay blog, they should be SEO written, because otherwise it doesn`t matter the number of they're.

Who can write articles for any collective gay blog?

Well, this is as much as the gay blog owner. He or she can choose whether only friends/aquaintances are the ones who are allowed to write and post articles on the gay blog, or if any visitor can make an account and after that, log in and post a few lines. If you ask me, I strongly believe that the 2nd option is the very best, as this way everybody can freely express their thoughts and opinions. The more the better!

What collective gay blogs are available?

As said earlier, there are hundreds of collective gay blogs, but here are a few which I consider to be typically the most popular:

Towleroad - Towleroad is the winner of the 2008 weblog awards (congrats!). Towleroad is another collective LGBT blog, with several contributors and tons of homosexual life related articles, since 2007 so far;

Bilerico Project - Bilerico is probably the most known collective LGBT blog;

EnDarkQ - Although newly founded, en.darkq.net has were able to go above many other gay blogs, and basically were able to achieve in only 6 months the visibility and visitors that other gay blogs have struggled to get in years.
