West Palm Beach Sunfest Fun

By Richard Simmons

West Palm Beach Sunfest in Florida is its largest arts and music festival. This is how locals start off their summer, while inviting visitors to come and join them. Mind you, the idea of summer makes sense during the spring months in Florida. Getting into the spirit will be easy. Add talented, often familiar musicians into the mix and this is a party to get visitors excited.

The main location is Fort Worth Lagoon, but three stages will showcase talented acts playing all kinds of music. This gives participants a chance to sample a genre and learn a bit more about music. Other areas will feature wine tasting, food and a kids area. Wiggle toes in the sand, float on a barge or even go back stage.

Packages include five-day passes and VIP options. Book the back-stage ticket package for a really different perspective. Along with musicians, over seventy-five artists set-up stalls hoping for art-lovers to purchase items they lovingly created.

While visiting the area, consider viewing other attractions. Palm Beach Zoo, Lion Country Safari and the Water Park will entertain the kids. Play a game of golf or laze on the sand.

Selecting a central hotel can make all the difference to enjoying the visit. Forget fighting traffic by car and just stay somewhere close, like Fairfield Inn Palm Beach hotel. Here you get thick mattresses, in-room coffee machines plus individual climate control. Your room becomes a retreat from crowds and heat. Business guests have not been forgotten, festival or not. For them there is courier service, copy, fax and the opportunity to book a limo to pick-up a client from the airport in style.

A twenty-four hour airport shuttle will get you to a flight in time, or book a limo instead as a treat. Valet dry cleaning and laundry facilities will help guests pack clean clothes instead of dirty ones, while an iron and ironing board ensure no one attends a concert or boards her flight in a wrinkled garment. Corporate guests can vacation and still stay on track with business thanks to copy, fax and courier services plus two phones with voice mail in their rooms.

Look around for a good place to eat and the search will not take long. Narrowing down the choices might, though. Oyster City specializes in seafood. City Cellar Wine Bar and Grill serves fish, stakes and pasta. Blue Martini offers a tapas menu along with specialty martinis and music. As bilingual front desk staff and guests can even arrange for delivery from some local restaurants.
