3 Tuition Assistance Programs for Military Spouses

By Ernie Young

Army Spouses make great sacrifices to be a better half and support our squaddies. Due to that, the army has established programs to try and help reduce the burden. Schooling Help programs are available for army spouses to keep on their schooling without all of the monetary strains that come with coughing up for it. This post is intended to share some of the opportunities available to us.

Although every program is not like one another nonetheless they have similar goals. The planned target is to provide each partner member with economic help so that they can have good chances for career through education.

If you're a Military Partner or connected with one, this post is for you:

Money support for Sea and Navy Corps spouses program:STAP the Navy's Spouse Tuition Help Program offers both Maine and Navy spouses who are living abroad with their army member they're granted with the facility i.e. Up to 50% of discount on the schooling for education schemes. Also, it's got a limit of 300 greenbacks per term and does not surpass 1500 dollars every year. There is no need to attend classes for full day.

Navy Sea Corps Relief Society Administered covers full graduate programme at high per term rate/per-year at the max.

The Air Force has their version of Navy's Spouse Teaching Aid Programme. While alike to the Marine/Navy program, because it has a limit of $1500 per educational year. It has got a dissimilar twist. Its primary objective is to provide partial teaching help through granting up to 50 %s of the charges for schooling.

Army Tuition Assistance program:

As the Army has 2 spouse's help program for tutoring. Where one is for the spouse's member who is stationed abroad and another one for those in the state. It fully is dependent upon your need, the Overseas Partner Education Assistance Program (OSEAP) funded education should be finished whilst the partner is living abroad with her or his army member. Overseas Partner Education Help Programme always gives half of the teaching fee i.e. Up to $540 per term or $2700 every year.

The Stateside Spouse Education Help Programme (SEAP) is rather like OSEAP programme because it also relies upon your need. The dissimilarity, nevertheless, is it is only available to the spouses who are:

1. Squaddies who died on duty.

2. Retired squaddies.

3. Duty personnel stationed stateside.

4. Retired infantrymen who have died.

Both programs are administered by AER (Armed forces Emergency Relief) plus cover vocational training programs or undergraduate. Army Emergency Relief has consolidated the SEAP and OSEAP beginning with the 2012-2013 school year. You can read up about the consolidation here.

Military Partner Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) :This programme is funded by the Dep. of Defense (DoD), and offers schooling assistance for a military partner following a job - often in education, business administration & health services, since these roles are generally found at just about each military base. Active duty spouses could sign up for an award $3,000 for 2 year of college.

My main purpose for sharing this information is this: the army is changing. Budget cuts and reductions are coming. This is Not a frighten tactic. When budgets start getting reduced, the 1st things to go are programs like these. Don't sleep on this thinking that 'it will invariably be there'.
