The Ontario PC Party And The Role It Played In Canada's Political History

Most of the political activities in many countries are highly influenced by various political organizations and factions. Organizations like Ontario PC party are often factions that the general public get their future leaders from especially if these groups tend to carry the same ideologies as they do.

With the various economic issues that have been tackled in the province, the Progressive Conservative faction has was known for the center0right stand that it has taken. In the area, they are considered an established political group since 1943, the year that the organization was officially established.

Known as the natural ruling political force in the province, the group has been in power for eighty years from the one hundred forty-four years of history that the Confederation has established since its creation.

Members of the Ontario PC party has been associated with the ideologies of conservatism and neoconservatism. They have enjoyed an uninterrupted office run from the years 1943 to 1985. Currently, they are known as the official opposition in the province.

This organization, also known as Conservatives started its establishment in Upper Canada. Back then, members of the group are supporters of the United Empire. During those days, members were considered loyal supporters of the ruling force in the colony- which is the Wealthy Family Compact.

Members of the alliance are often known as Tories. When the 1837 rebellions ceased, the Tories have been seen as moderate reformers. Most of the time, they would take stance in opposing various radical policies that were advocated by Reformers and then later the members of the Clear grits. The faction used to be composed of Protestants and Catholics, but they later got reduced to Protestants and English members only after 1971.

Among the various stances that the Ontario PC party has been known for include its opposition to the right of French-Canadian where language is concerned, taking side against the funding of separate or Catholic institutions, and their mistrust against immigrants. The group has also been recognized for their pro-Labor stand.
