Can ClickBank Replace Your Job?

I saw one of the AdSense ads showing that proudly proclaimed Affiliates: $537 per day - Quit your job with ClickBank.

Whoa, hold on there. If you thought that it would be great to go and quit your job to become an affiliate marketer I strongly recommend against it. Here's why:

* Affiliate Marketing is no picnic. There is no way of knowing which direction the market will go in the near future and for sure not the long term. Even if you managed to make $5,500 last month doesn't mean you will this month. Websites lose popularity, traffic fluctuates, and relevance changes all the time. There have been sites making $200 a day suddenly nosedive to less than $20 a day for no obvious reason. You will need a lot of hard work, persistence, patience and ingenuity to make sure your income continues to grow. After you have all your expenses paid and have $12,000 in the bank maybe you can think about quitting your day job. A steady income beats dreams and hopes every time when it comes to sleeping well at night.

* Affiliate marketing is competitive - Were talking about a business where you wont even be able to tell your friends or family what your websites are. Any competition that you bring up inadvertently could be taking away from your income, and if you are spending money to make money (PPC advertising, for example), that can really take its toll on your profits. Unlike the job landscape in your area, affiliate marketing can be done from anywhere in the world. Are you comfortable having competition from people in Thailand, Brazil, India, China, the UK, the United States, Canada, and any other internet-enabled nation? If not, stick to your day job.

* You've never seen anything as fast moving as Affiliate Marketing. Once you click GO, traffic may start rolling in and you may be making money or not. You don't have time to wait around, take a nap or kick back and loaf. This business runs 24 hours a day - good or bad!

Having said all that, I need to fess up that I am a full time Affiliate Marketer myself I'll give you some reasons why I took up Affiliate Marketing full time:

1. Affiliate marketing is lucrative - There is no other business where you can start up and make $500 that day. My first website made me over $10,000 in profit over the course of four months, and it was little more than eight pages of text and a few images. If you can find a way to get people to do what you want them to you'll be able to make limitless amounts of cash.

2. Affiliate Marketing changes daily. It is a new game from day to day. The challenge of trying out new things and seeing what works or doesn't means Affiliate Marketing can be an exciting business. Once you see how much sales methods and marketing techniques change on a day to day basis you may become hooked. And you could end up running away from the competition.

3. Affiliate Marketing is TONS of Fun. It is hard not to enjoy being able to get up when I want, run errands, get my hair cut, come home and set up new marketing programs, check my stats and grin at my bank account. The knowledge that I'm being paid to loaf really makes life interesting. Did I mention it is fun?

The reality is that an offline job is a reliable, steady income. If you are making some money as an affiliate, why not continue to supplement your offline income and grow your online income? Until it comes down to the day where you're making $8,000 or more a month online, stick to your day job.

How to See People Instead of Labels - And How to Truly Change Our World

What would the world look like if we all accepted each other? What would it look like if people were appreciated for what's on the inside rather than the outside? Would the world be a happier place? Absolutely!

As an Inspirational Speaker who was born without arms, I often get to present my story to audiences waiting to hear what they can do to change the world. I tell them that having been born without arms, I get to see a different side of life. Society often reacts poorly to me just because of the way my body appears.

Hannah, my 18 month old daughter, recently learned a new trick on a trip to the northeast. My wife told Hannah to "hold daddy's hand while we walk" because Joni's hands were full and we were in a crowded area. Now, before you think my wife was being insensitive, in our family, we exchange the words "foot" and "hand" all of the time when referring to me as my feet serve as my hands. We've never gotten hung up on word choices.

What is so inspiring and amazing to me is Hannah's acceptance of what is "normal" in our family. She doesn't know any differently, so she treats me with full acceptance and love unlike the world around me that often treats me as handicapped before they get to know me. Hannah's attitude shows what we all could be like if we simply treated others with respect and love without judging others based on looks.

In my presentations, I love to talk about seeing people instead of labels. Society as a whole is a great giver of labels. We have so many labels that we have decided to make up new labels because the old ones seem crass or hurtful. The word "handicapped" has become "person with special needs." While I agree that the new label is better than the old, I fear it is just a band-aid on a bigger problem.

What if, instead of labels, we saw all people as simply, people? If there was no need to classify, we wouldn't have to come up with creative ways of saying hurtful things. Without labels, everyone in our society would be on equal ground.

What would a label-less world look like? There would be no war as we wouldn't be bombing the "enemy" but rather bombing "people." There would be no poverty because the "poor" would be seen as "people." So, let's get started. The next time you catch yourself labeling someone, try getting to know them instead. You'll be amazed at what people have to give.

The Bold And Unusual Chevy Vega

The bold and unusual Chevy Vega, which was a General Motors product that first saw the light of day in 1970 and ran for only seven years until its discontinuation in 1977 was car that was never really properly given all the tools it needed to succeed, in the estimation of many an automotive expert.

The Vega, though, was noteworthy in that it came to market in a relatively quick 2 years from the time it was conceived on the drawing board to the point when it appeared in dealer showrooms. Offered in a number of two-door styles, included a panel truck, the Vega sought to fill a certain niche.

Taking into account that the Vega was a compact vehicle and that Chevy intended for it to be an import fighter and an entry vehicle for first-time car buyers, the car seemed to do well enough when seen in that light. Due to changes in market forces, though, it ultimately failed to last for as long as it was hoped.

Initially, though, the car itself proved a good-selling machine, making into the top-ten in terms of sales by 1974. Weak engines -- both in performance and reliability -- proved to be the car's Achilles heel, though, and a number of issues with the engine's aluminum block caused more than a few issues in the first few years of its existence. Happily, most problems were fixed over the years.

Unfortunately, the little four-bangers proved to be too much for the car itself to overcome, delivering -- at best -- very pedestrian performance and only so-so fuel economy ratings. At some point, Chevy began turning out a slightly larger car built off the same platform as the Vega's called the Monza and soon enough, the Vega drove off into the sunset. Curiously, the Monza also went away in 1980, 3 years after the Vega.

Though looked upon a little more favorably today, most auto experts believe that the Vega was emblematic of much of what was wrong with American automakers back in the seventies. As a statement of its time, though, the Vega tried to show off many styling cues which were believed to be European in nature. Also, it eventually offered fuel injection, which was relatively rare for American cars back then.

The Chevy Vega in all its iterations was a notable vehicle which General Motors was able to produce in only 24 months from drawing board to roll out off the assembly line. Given how long it normally took American automakers to produce any new model back then, it's perhaps the Vega's most shining and memorable achievement.
